Who we are
End Domestic Violence is a proposed Australian federal political party. This website is operated by DSMedia on behalf of the party. We take privacy seriously — our members may include people at risk, and we treat your data accordingly.
DSMedia is the data controller for this website, so DSMedia's own privacy policy also applies to how your information is handled. See dsmedia.gg/privacy (currently being finalised).
What we collect
When you join as a member, we collect:
- Your full legal name (as on the electoral roll)
- Your postcode
- Your email address
- The date and time you joined
- A record of the consent statement you agreed to
We do not collect payment details, government ID numbers, or any information beyond what is necessary for party registration purposes.
How we store it
- Email addresses are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM.
- IP addresses are hashed (SHA-256) and never stored in plaintext.
- Data is stored on Cloudflare's edge infrastructure (servers in Australia and globally).
- No data is sold, shared with advertisers, or used for targeting.
Why we collect it
The Australian Electoral Commission requires a list of at least 1,500 members (with name, address and contact details) to register a federal political party. Member data is collected solely to support this registration and to communicate with you about the party.
Who sees it
- Party administrators (William Flynn, DSMedia).
- The Australian Electoral Commission — only a subset of member records, provided during the registration process as required by the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918.
- No one else.
Your rights
You can at any time:
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Withdraw your membership and have your record removed from the active member list.
To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@edvparty.org.
